On a lovely sunny day I met Sapna and her cute family at Redwood Park in Surrey for a family photo session. Redwood Park is one my favourite spots for a family shoot. Not only do you get the beauty of the trees but there is also a lovely treehouse, a playground and an enchanted fairy land that's perfect for kids.
The little six month old was so charming and he smiled the WHOLE TIME! He was so easy to photography and as you can see that made for a really fun photo session ❤
On a lovely sunny day myself and a dear friend of mine, the talented writer miss K. spent a couple of hours taking photos near coal harbour in Vancouver. It's a beautiful spot to take photos but it didn't hurt that miss K. is gorgeous and didn't take one bad photo so here are a few shots we got that day ❤
It was rainy and wet at Granville Island but that didn't stop us from having a great time with this lovely couple who didn't have the chance to do an engagement shoot before their wedding so they did it after. We had the pleasure of photographing B & I's wedding back in June and were delighted to see them again in December ❤
Beautiful morning, beautiful people, beautiful ceremony & reception! We couldn't have asked for more on Baraa & Sinan's wedding day. We enjoyed spending some time with the lovely couple and their families and you can tell they both couldn't wait to see each other at the church and we were there to capture their lovely celebration ❤
Steveston village was the perfect backdrop for this lovely couple's e-session. We started early in the morning where Baraa & Sinan walked around this historical and magical gem and I'm not sure if it was the warm morning breeze or the smell of fresh coffee that got us giggling throughout the session. Balloons, bubbles and bright skies added to the fun of it all and by the end we were all tired form laughing so much and ended with a cup of tea and snacks at Blenz coffee. A perfect way to end the session ❤
From a beautiful Mehndi ceremony & a playful Pithi evening to an elegant Nikkah ceremony, Benish & Imran's wedding was full of great moments and lovely surprises.
We had the pleasure of spending two days with the lovely couple and their family, some of whom travelled from as far as Minnesota, Florida, Los Angeles, Wisconsin, Toronto, and India, so it was very important for them that we capture as many moments as possible.
The first day began at Elk's Lodge in Port Coquitlam where the bride was adorned with beautiful Henna on both her hands and feet. The rest of the family followed and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know everyone.
Later in the evening was the Pithi ceremony which entails rubbing the bride and the groom with a paste made of chickpea flour, turmeric and other ingredients. It's a celebration of love and happiness for the couple involved. The night ended with several great dance performances from family members.
The next day was the day of the Nikkah ceremony which was held at the Ismaili Centre in Burnaby. The bride and groom prepared themselves at two different locations but the groom picked the bride up after he negotiated with her bridesmaids (there were lots of negotiations throughout both days, most of which are very playful in nature.. pretty fun tradition for sure).
Our journey with the couple ended at the Ismaili centre where the marriage ceremony took place. The couple & their families glowed with happiness and there were a few other traditions that were performed at the centre, including a fun competition between the bride and groom all of which contributed to a wonderful wedding that we'll never forget. Congrats to you Benish and Imran and thanks so much for sharing your day with us ❤
What a week it's been! The sunshine in Greater Vancouver combined with the few remaining cherry blossoms makes for such a nice combo to photograph. Having a lovely model, who also happens to be a toddler, makes it even more precious! It's not easy, however, to get them to pose for you, but just like with everything, persistence works and here is one picture that truly captures the joys of childhood. Happy Spring ❤
❤ Rain didn't stop this beautiful couple from going through with their romantic shoot at Granville Island, and what fun we had! Sucheta is one of my dear friends and I was more than happy to hang out with her and Garry for a few hours snapping photos. It was challenging at times with the blowing wind and the torrential downpour, but Granville Island couldn't be more perfect since it offered a wide variety of backdrops from natural to urban. We got wet, but we did have a blast and these are some of the pictures we captured ❤
If you haven't had the chance to see this art installation at Spanish Banks in Vancouver yet you totally should! This 'Rainblossom Project' was done by some anonymous Vancouverites to celebrate our rain-filled city and we had the chance to check it out today and snap some photos at sunset.
This lovely mom-to-be was a pleasure to work with. It was a rainy day outside so we couldn't go out but she welcomed me to her home and we got some awesome shots. She had some great white walls that worked well as a clean backdrop and she was glowing so it wasn't so hard to get these lovely photos of her. Congrats Nicole and can't wait to meet your little one! :)
