A while back I had the pleasure of shooting a Shaw TV story with a very brave friend of mine who will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro later this month to raise funds for the Alzheimer research. Lydia Meister is doing this for her mother who is unfortunately suffering from this disease and she hopes to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure.
Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia, it's irreversible and eventually fatal. It is estimated that about 750,000 people are living with the disease in Canada according to the Alzheimer's society of Canada and the number will go up to 1.4 million by 2031.
We were also delighted to join Lydia on a fundraiser last week where she was surrounded by friends and family to support the cause and here are some photos from the event. We wish Lydia the best of luck and to donate or to get up to date info about her climb and fundraising efforts visit her blog here and like her facebook page. :)
Steveston village was the perfect backdrop for this lovely couple's e-session. We started early in the morning where Baraa & Sinan walked around this historical and magical gem and I'm not sure if it was the warm morning breeze or the smell of fresh coffee that got us giggling throughout the session. Balloons, bubbles and bright skies added to the fun of it all and by the end we were all tired form laughing so much and ended with a cup of tea and snacks at Blenz coffee. A perfect way to end the session ❤
